Job Description

Role Description:


This is a full-time on-site role for a Solar Procurement Manager. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing supplier evaluations, negotiating contracts, and overseeing procurement processes. The Procurement Manager will also be responsible for contract management and reporting to senior management.


Roles & Responsibilities:


1 Project Requirement Analysis:

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand the procurement needs for ground-mounted solar captive power projects.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and assessment of project requirements to determine procurement strategies.

2 Vendor Identification and Evaluation:

  • Identify potential suppliers, contractors, and service providers through market research and industry contacts.
  • Evaluate and qualify vendors based on criteria such as reliability, quality, cost, and compliance with project specifications.

3 RFI/RFP Development:

  • Develop and manage Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
  • Clearly articulate project requirements and evaluate responses from vendors.

4 Negotiation and Contracting:

  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with vendors to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts with selected vendors, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

5 Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Address and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise during the procurement process.

6 Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control procurement costs, seeking opportunities for cost reduction without compromising project quality.
  • Implement cost tracking mechanisms and report regularly on procurement expenditures.

7 Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of procurement processes, contracts, and communication with vendors.


Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in procurement
  • Ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts
  • Experience in contract management and reporting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of renewable energy industry and supply chain management
  • Bachelor's degree in B.Tech/Business Administration, Economics, or Supply Chain Management
  • 2 to 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
