Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Sourcing & Evaluation

• Identify, evaluate, and approve suppliers based on technical and commercial criteria.
  
• Develop and maintain vendor databases for key materials.
  

Procurement & Purchase Management

• Prepare and send RFQs/RFPs to suppliers.
  
• Compare technical and commercial quotations.
  
• Finalize purchase orders in coordination with management.
  

Technical Evaluation

• Review material specifications, drawings, and BOQs with engineering teams.
  
• Ensure materials meet technical and project requirements.
  

Cost Analysis & Negotiation

• Conduct price comparisons and cost-benefit analysis.
  
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  
• Work on cost-saving initiatives.
  

Material Planning & Coordination

• Coordinate with project sites for material requirements.
  
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials to avoid project delays.
  
• Follow up with logistics teams and suppliers on dispatch and delivery.
  

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure supplied materials meet quality standards.
  
• Maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and procurement records.
  

Vendor Relationship Management

• Maintain long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.
  
• Monitor vendor performance for quality, price, and delivery timelines.
  

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain procurement trackers, PO status reports, and MIS updates.
  
• Share weekly/monthly procurement status with management.
