Job Title / Role – Process Planning Engineer – Engine Assembly.

Department: PED - SP

Section – PED super co-operation project

Location - Hosur

Education Qualification – BE/MBA/Diploma

Required Experience – 7 to 12

Position Reports to – Cell Head

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for technically & professionally competent process planning engineers who are capable of industrializing engines and vehicle assembly.
He is able to select i.e. right from product design conception to materializing the production lines, with specialization on pressing SPM's, Filling and testing machine, Conveyor assembly, work stations, Tightening tools and material handling devices

Role Description:
1. Design, evaluate and finalize the manufacturing strategy, considering all 7M conditions.
2. Estimate capital investments & conversion cost for new products/upgrades/capacity augmentation.
3. Estimate total cost of buying (TCB), propose, evaluate and finalize "Make or Buy" strategy.
4. Design and develop processes for new products and upgrades, with application of APQP (3rd Edition).
5. Conduct process FMEA and develop a defect-free process with expertise on VDA 6.3 and IATF 4th edition.
6. Design, evaluate and finalize layouts for plant and manufacturing lines with application of manufacturing principles (JIT, LEAN, AGILE).
7. Plan and finalize plant & facility requirements.
8. Facility planning, evaluation, sourcing and development, qualifications, I&C, proving and routinization.
9. Prove-out process & facilities meeting quality targets and sustainable process capability index.
10. Technical documentation of the designed process with PPAP (IATF 4th edition) and on-time customer approval (PSW sign-off).
11.Moniter Alpha, Beta and QP manufacturing and achievement of results as per set MPT targets
12.Prepare action plans for process improvement projects/Identify alternate processes to improve P,Q,C,D & S in existing manufacturing cells/New product line
13.Skill to set manufacturing process targets with project targets and identify projects to improve the process.
14.Study the drawings and provide DFB/DFM feed backs to design team to improve the manufacturing quality.
