The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the 24-hour glass finishing operations through solid engineering principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement. They will also ensure process stability and support daily operations, with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction targets. Day to Day Responsibilities: Training and Project State: Undergo on-the-job training in India/ APAC region for glass finishing process/ technology. Assist in the installation, startup, troubleshooting, and operation of manufacturing equipments. Monitor process trend charts to ensure the process is under control. Check and confirm daily operation checklist to ensure all operation compliance. Establish manufacturing processes. In steady state In Mass production, process engineer will become a part of the production team to ensure smooth running of production. Support or lead sub-teams on new equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training. Train operators and supervisors on new equipment and processes. Troubleshoot material, process, and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Implement and document material, process, and/or equipment changes. Work with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering-related problems. Support or lead small project teams focusing on continuous improvement activities, new product/process introductions, and cost reduction projects. Support any plant-level project such as start-up, equipment upgrade, new technology, process improvement, etc. Execute cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives. Create and support developments in equipment design and new process that can enhance the current process capabilities. Deliver on plant manufacturing objectives - ship to request, manufacturing cost, quality, and safety. Understand manufacturing cost. Define, manage, and support continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Lead or support Corrective Action Initiatives related to quality, safety or unscheduled equipment downtime. Ensure an efficient and seamless transfer of new products and manufacturing technologies from engineering to manufacturing. Reporting Structure: Immediate Supervisor: Engineering Manager/Lead or Production Head Education Experience Bachelor s Degree plus 5-10 years of engineering experience preferably in glass manufacturing environment. Required (Critical) Skills Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong data analysis skills and an analytical mindset. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and/or as a team leader. Technical aptitude conducive to building proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and evaluating manufacturing data. Experience with MS-office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Access. Desired Skills Ideal candidates should have some hands-on experience and must demonstrate technical curiosity and aptitude. Earlier experience in the glass industry or glass finishing would be an added advantage. Six Sigma Green Belt or DMAIC project experience.
