Process Commissioning Engineer

Job Description

As Process Commissioning Engineer , he / she is responsible for: Installation Qualification (I/Q) Operational Qualification support (O/Q) Documentation management (including updating) for his / her areas Performance Qualification support (P/Q) Customer training The Process Commissioning Engineer has overall responsibility and is answerable for all commissioning activities in relation to his / her specific assignment. He / she is responsible for implementing the energies, utilities for powering MCC panels and control cabinets. He / she is responsible for the instrumentation setup and he / she troubleshoots any mechanical, hydraulic, thermal and electrical failure. He / she is responsible for starting the plants up including the utilities and for checking that the contractual performances are met from physical and process standpoints. He / she is accountable for enabling the customer to start their first production with a plant cleaned, sterile (if required) and secured (qualified) from a process perspective. He / she supports the software engineer during operational (functional) qualification (OQ) and the customer during their performances qualification (PQ) and train the operators. The Process Commissioning Engineer attends any meeting on the Commissioning Team Leader demand. He / she proceeds with weekly commissioning reviews and sends a weekly report to the Commissioning Team Leader. He / she is responsible for providing him / her with his / her final commissioning report before leaving site. The final commissioning report must include: IQ report Exhaustive records of instrumentation and frequency convertors settings Exhaustive records of results (flow, temperature, pressures, runtimes, ) obtained compared to the contractual or specified ones The Process Commissioning Engineer is owner of the following process. Full completion of each of the tasks is his / her scope of supply. He / her can be supported by specialists but must ideally be able to handle each of these tasks without any external support. He / she must therefore demonstrate related knowledge and even skills. Mistakes and failures fixing are included. Formalization of the results is his / her deliverables. 1. Installation takeover from the Installation Supervisor including quick checks 2. Mechanical IQ (Installation qualification) a. Documentation checks b. P&ID (and 3Ds) compliance c. Item list compliance d. Corrections 3. Electrical IQ (support) a. Documentation checks b. Energizing (MCC, Control cabinet) c. Electrical diagram compliance d. Instrumentation, measuring chains, regulation loops configuration e. I/O tests including troubleshooting and corrections 4. Utilities activation, purge and performances checks 5. Water cleansing / Flushing: Water flush the system piping and Check for leaks 6. Manual and semi-automatic startup a. Physical performances checks b. Regulation loops (PID) parameters adjustment c. Functional capacity checks 7. Functional qualification (OQ) a. Cleaning in place (CIP) b. Main functions automatic tests on water c. Alarms and Interlocks checks d. Operators training 8. First productions a. Parameters adjustments on product b. Production assistance experience in liquid food processing /technology or liquid/wet dairy processing is desirable.
