Principal Hardware Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a Principal Electronic Design Engineer at Cubic Transportation Systems, you will be responsible for designing, developing, simulating, and testing hardware products for intelligent travel applications in the transportation industry. In this senior-level role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced electronic systems and components to drive innovation, ensure technical excellence, and mentor junior team members. Your extensive experience in electronic design, deep understanding of industry standards, and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams will be crucial in delivering high-quality products that meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Define and architect the overall electronic system architecture, ensuring it meets performance, cost, power, and reliability requirements - Lead the design, simulation, and analysis of complex analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuits - Take full technical responsibility for electronic and electrical engineering, including design, component selection, prototype, testing, and documentation stages - Manage suppliers from engineering specification through to delivery of parts for evaluation, prototyping, and production - Assess the validity of design and manufacturing proposals for maximum cost-effectiveness - Present technical findings and project updates to senior management, stakeholders, and clients - Assist in preparing presentations and proposals for customers - Participate in design reviews, offering feedback and sharing best practices - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members - Review and approve technical designs, documentation, and reports to maintain quality standards - Tackle complex technical challenges, drive innovative solutions, and make critical design decisions - Identify opportunities for process improvements in electronic design workflow - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful product development and delivery - Adhere to company values, policies, and procedures, including quality, security, and safety standards - Perform other duties as assigned by the manager as required Qualifications Required: - B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech Degree in Electronics Engineering or relevant field with extensive design experience - Minimum of 10+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development - Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor - Hands-on experience with lab equipment for prototyping, debugging, and validation - Familiarity with India-based PCB houses, test lab facilities, and prototyping suppliers Additional Company Details (if applicable): The job holder may be required to travel domestically and internationally, including working odd hours to meet customer requirements.,
