Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and delivering various UK schemes, functioning as a technical specialist who applies advanced engineering concepts to unique problems. Your role will involve managing multiple projects, ensuring they meet budget, program, and technical standards, while also focusing on QA, CDM, Sustainability, and HSE requirements. You will provide guidance to a team of technical staff, contribute to business development activities, and drive efficiency using a Lean approach. Additionally, you will oversee project performance reporting and maintain a positive working environment within the team. Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience in UK highway design, including road geometry, road restraint system, site clearance, pavement, signages, and road markings - Direct and check the use of relevant design software such as Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX, PDS/Key Line, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise - Lead and manage a team of up to 10 staff, ensuring successful project delivery - Produce technical specifications and reports, and stay updated on emerging technologies in the highways sector - Liaise with clients, co-professionals, and design teams effectively - Manage project resources and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of technical issues and risks - Mentor and manage early career professionals to ensure technical excellence in project delivery Qualification Required: - Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with over 10 years of experience in highway design - Near Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a recognized institution Company Details: WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm dedicated to local communities and driven by international expertise.
