Description The Arctera Insight Platform (formally known as Veritas Alta Archiving, or Enterprise vault.cloud) is a foundation for intelligent information lifecycle management. Arctera Insight offers policy-driven retention and multi-faceted classification with default policies helping IT, Legal, and Compliance teams to retain their most important information assets and delete the rest. In this role you will closely work with Business Unit stakeholders, Support, Development, QA and peer teams to operate and support the Arctera Insight database environment. This role communicates frequently with team members and stakeholders from the various business units, regarding status; and helps to troubleshoot and resolve application and infrastructure problems to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction. What you will be doing: Responsibilities include Microsoft SQL database design, security, performance tuning, and backup and recovery. Maintaining and monitoring Microsoft SQL database servers across several Azure regions. Design Microsoft SQL databases to meet the organizations needs Define Microsoft SQL tables, relationships, and constraints to ensure data integrity Create and maintain backup and recovery procedures Create regular backups of the database, and test these backups on a regular basis Test and implement disaster recovery plans Implement and maintain database security measures, such as user access controls and encryption Ensure consistency, quality, security, and compliance with rules and regulations Database performance optimization Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks that could affect the applications speed and responsiveness Fine-tune queries, indexing, and caching strategies to enhance system performance Troubleshooting Have the necessary skills and quick problem-solving abilities to minimize any damage caused Have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, good communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills The extended Arctera Insight Operations team provides 7x24x365 support for the application and operating environment. Some off-hours shift work may be required Provides day to day support of the Cloud platform through ticketed work assignments, as well as providing rotational on call support Quickly pivot between different requirements and frameworks depending on business need, or system and stakeholder requirements Support code release activities Critical thinking skills to detect and quickly resolve issues in a proactive manner Responsible for complex problem resolution, creating and improving procedures and facilitating communication What skills, experience and education you need as a team member to succeed: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IS or 5+ years experience in a 24 7 high-availability production environment Strongly prefer prior experience in Microsoft SQL database servers troubleshooting skills Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies. Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Experience with automation through scripting Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong time management skills Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business initiatives Strong interpersonal and team building skills The desire to take advantage of training and learning opportunities A plus: knowledge and experience with MongoDB or Azure Cosmos DB
