The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

In this context, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary Math Teacher (PRT–Maths) to teach foundational mathematical concepts to students in primary classes. The ideal candidate will use engaging teaching methods, reinforce conceptual understanding, and create a positive learning environment that nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence in young learners.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver interactive and age-appropriate math lessons for primary classes.
• Teach basic mathematical concepts including number sense, operations, geometry, measurement, and problem-solving.
• Use activity-based learning, hands-on tools, worksheets, and digital resources to enhance understanding.
• Assess student learning through classwork, assignments, quizzes, and periodic evaluations.
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where needed.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and areas of improvement.
• Participate in school events, academic planning, training programs, and collaborative meetings with staff.
• Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and assessment data.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Science / relevant discipline.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) with specialization in primary/elementary education preferred.
• Proficiency in child-centered teaching methodologies.
• Prior teaching experience in primary grades is preferred.
