Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in tool and die making preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a related precision machining role. Apprenticeship certification or journeyman status is a strong advantage. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files. Skilled in the use of manual and CNC machinery, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Experience with tool and die fabrication, maintenance, and repair. Strong knowledge of materials (e.g., metals, alloys) used in die and mold making. Understanding of heat treating, surface grinding, and other finishing processes. Soft Skills & Attributes: Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good time management and organizational skills. Strong safety awareness and adherence to shop safety protocols. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop-floor environment. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma. Experience in automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing environments.
