Role & responsibilities 1. Installation of Plumbing Systems: Water Supply Systems: Plumbers install pipes for clean water supply to homes and businesses, ensuring proper water pressure and flow. Drainage Systems: They install pipes to carry away wastewater from sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and other plumbing fixtures. Gas Lines: Install and maintain gas lines safely for appliances like water heaters, ovens, and fireplaces. Appliance Connections: Install and connect appliances like dishwashers, water heaters, washing machines, etc. 2. Maintenance and Inspections: Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems to identify potential issues like leaks, corrosion, or blockages. Preventive Care: Clean drains, replace worn-out parts, and ensure all plumbing fixtures are functioning efficiently. Water Heater Maintenance: Inspect and service water heaters to ensure proper functionality and energy efficiency. 3. Repair and Troubleshooting: Leaky Pipes and Faucets: Fix leaks in water or gas pipes, faucets, toilets, and other fixtures. Unclogging Drains: Use various techniques (e.g., plungers, augers) to clear blockages in sinks, toilets, or shower drains. Fixing Broken Pipes: Repair or replace damaged, cracked, or frozen pipes to restore the plumbing system's integrity. 4. Compliance with Codes and Safety Standards: Ensure that all installations and repairs comply with local building codes, health regulations, and safety standards.
