Platform Reliability Engineering - Associate

Overview : This role is for a hands-on, multi-skilled professional with strong technical competence to deliver critical services, ensuring Jefferies operates a highly stable, reliable, and resilient front-to-back plant. Responsibilities : Be part of a high-performing global team, providing oversight in plant stability across applications supporting post-trade processing (Operations). Navigate the global technology department and wider organization to understand problems and implement solutions. Handle incident triage and communication, with strong problem management experience. Collaborate with regional counterparts on technical and functional initiatives. Drive efficiency through automation, eliminating manual day-to-day support activities; scope and create automation for deployment, management, and visibility of services. Implement best practices for building successful monitoring and alerting systems. Experience with observability platforms like Datadog and OpenTelemetry is desired. Work closely with engineering/development teams to design, build, and maintain systems, assisting in product selection, schema design, and query tuning. Troubleshoot issues across the stack. Qualifications : Bachelors degree or equivalent, ideally in technology infrastructure (e.g., engineering, computer science). 3+ years of experience using Python, Go, C/C++, and/or C#. Strong computing fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, software design, and core programming concepts. Experience in application design and maintenance. Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) core concepts and capabilities. Working knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows Server. Hands-on experience with scripting languages and a strong understanding of databases. Ability to analyze and solve problems related to application and data access. Ability to work independently, self-driven, with a sense of ownership and pride in delivering quality work. Excellent communication skills, capable of addressing both business and technical audiences. Understanding of open-source server platforms (Redis, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch). Experience in configuring the OpenTelemetry stack (Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Loki). Broad understanding of DevOps tools and technologies (Git, Jenkins, Ansible).
