Responsibilities include operating 3-axis and multi-axis machines (5-axis milling) for new products and proving them. The position also involves assisting operators with setups, machining, and coordinating with the QA department to ensure the product quality meets customer requirements. Work Location: Mysore, Karnataka, India 5-axis Milling Operator and setter PLANSEE India High Performance Materials Pvt. Ltd. Responsibilities Use appropriate clamps or fixtures to hold the workpiece firmly in place. Double-check that there is no movement. Use alignment tools like dial indicators or edge finders to ensure the workpiece is positioned correctly. Verify all machine settings, including speed, feed rate, and tool path, to match the requirements of our task. Perform dry runs without cutting to check the tool path and ensure there are no collisions or errors. To ensure that the planned production aligns with the daily planning of product codes to achieve the KPIs. Ability to read and modify CNC programs for optimal performance. To support supervisors in KAIZEN, 5-S, PDCA, activities on daily basis. Select and optimize cutting tools, troubleshoot tool-related issues, and ensure efficient machining processes. Perform first article inspections and verify conformance to specifications using precision metrology tools. Work closely with engineers and machinists to maintain throughput and reduce scrap/rework. Experience in leading or mentoring machinists and managing workflows involving multiple machines. Making necessary adjustments during the machining process to maintain precision. Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 4-5 years of relevant experience in 5axis milling (VMC) operations, tooling, manual/CAM programming basic knowledge, setting and prove-outs. Expertise in Machining Line (Milling), relevant experience in metal cutting sector, Communication skills, hands-on experience and Problem-solving techniques. Certifications in Basics of CNC Programming is added advantage. (Not mandatory) MS Office and CNC Machining (Mandatory). Programming, writing and optimizing code for 2D, 3D, and multi-axis machining processes using Mastercam and NX. Proving New Products Testing and validating new product designs to ensure they meet specifications. Assisting Operators, helping machine operators with setups and machining processes. Working closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure products meet customer requirements. Responsibilities 2D/3D designing and generating NC programs (2D, 3D, and multi-axis) using Siemens NX CAM, Mastercam, or similar software. This also involves creating proper documentation for new products and proving them within the specified time frame. Selecting and optimizing cutting tools, troubleshooting tool-related issues, ensuring efficient machining processes, and designing jigs and fixtures for new products. Selecting and implementing the latest Lean manufacturing methods and processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, PDCA, SFM, and the 8 Wastes. Maintaining 5S activities on the shop floor and regularly implementing Kaizen. Additionally, the role involves continuous improvements in production and the manufacturing of low-volume products. Ensuring the follow-up of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) throughout the entire department. Ensuring that safety norms are followed throughout the entire department. Updating the setup manual with process parameters after the completion of the sample order or first order. Include material accounting for first-time orders. Include updating the TM sheet after the completion of the sample order or first order. Problem-solving of day-to-day issues running on the shop floor. Include conducting process validation of mass production and critical products twice a year. Requirements Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering. 2-3 years of relevant experience in milling (VMC) operations, tooling, and setting. 4-5 years of hands-on experience in CAM programming and prove-outs. Proficient in Siemens NX CAM and Mastercam (2D, 3D, and multi-axis). Skilled in MS Office, presentation, and communication. Knowledge in designing & Multi-axis (5axis milling) programming.
