Position Overview:

The Planning and Cost Controller will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and optimizing production plans, resource allocation, and cost control systems to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. The role involves coordinating between departments to align production schedules, manage inventory, analyze manufacturing costs, and support management in decision-making with accurate data and cost insights.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain the master production plan in coordination with sales forecasts, customer orders, and available capacity.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly production targets to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with procurement, stores, and production teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules to address bottlenecks or delays.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.

2. Time sheet Aanagement

  • Time sheet booking, reporting and management

3. Cost Control & Analysis

  • Establish, monitor, and analyze production cost structures including material, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Track and compare actual vs. standard/budgeted costs, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare cost reports and profitability analysis for different product lines.
  • Support management in pricing strategies by providing cost data and margin analysis.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate cost accounting and variance analysis.

4. Inventory & Resource Management

  • Monitor raw materials, WIP (Work in Progress), and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal levels.
  • Coordinate with procurement to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Implement systems for better tracking and control of material consumption.

5. Process Improvement

  • Analyze production data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and process standardization.
  • Recommend automation or workflow enhancements to reduce waste and downtime.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare regular management reports on production performance, cost variance, and forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain updated records of BOM (Bill of Materials), cost sheets, and process documents.
  • Provide insights for budgeting and business planning.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, or Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum

    1–2 years

    experience – with an ability to take up this position.
  •  Strong interest to learn manufacturing processes, BOMs, and standard costing methods.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, advanced MS Excel.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with excellent numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities across departments.
