Job Description for Physiotherapist: A Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical problems caused by injury, illness, or disability, aiming to improve mobility, strength, and function. They develop individualized treatment plans, using various techniques like exercises, manual therapy, and education to help patients recover and manage pain. Key Responsibilities of a Physiotherapist: · Assessment and Diagnosis: Evaluating patients' physical conditions, identifying limitations, and determining the cause of their issues. · Treatment Planning: Developing personalized rehabilitation plans that address specific needs and goals, considering the individual's condition and progress. · Treatment Implementation: Administering various therapeutic techniques, including exercises, manual therapy, massage, and modalities like ultrasound. · Patient Education: Educating patients on their condition, treatment plan, and how to prevent future problems. · Progress Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly evaluating patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and documenting outcomes. · Collaboration: Working closely with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. · Supervision: Supervising junior physiotherapists or assistants, particularly in training or experience-based roles. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or a related field. Registration with the relevant professional body. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Typical Work Settings: Hospitals.
