Phlebotomist / Phlebotomy Technician

The Phlebotomist is a critical member of the clinical laboratory team, responsible for the safe, accurate, and professional collection of biological specimens (primarily blood) from patients for diagnostic testing. This role requires technical expertise in venipuncture/capillary collection, adherence to strict quality control (QC) and safety protocols, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care

• Verify patient identity using multiple identifiers (ID, name, date of birth, etc.) before any procedure.
• Explain the collection procedure clearly to the patient to alleviate anxiety and obtain informed consent.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism to ensure a comfortable and positive patient experience, especially for nervous, elderly, or pediatric patients.
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during and after collection.
• Accurately label all specimens immediately post-collection, ensuring the label matches the patient, the test requisition, and the collection tube type.
• Follow strict protocols for handling, processing (e.g., centrifugation, aliquoting), storage, and transportation of specimens to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.
• Record all necessary details, including collection time and patient history, into the laboratory information system (LIS) or physical logbooks.
• Adhere strictly to all infection control and biohazard safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sterile, single-use equipment.
• Ensure the proper disposal of contaminated sharps and bio-waste according to established guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-stocked work area, including sterilizing equipment and ordering supplies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,735.18 - ₹12,000.00 per month
