Job Description

Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher – Economics (Cambridge International Curriculum)

Department: Senior School

Reporting to: Academic Coordinator / Head of Department / Principal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Economics educator to teach learners in grades aligned with the Cambridge International AS & A Levels and IGCSE curriculum. The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background, proven teaching experience in the CIE framework, and the ability to foster analytical thinking and independent learning in students.

Key Responsibilities:Academic Delivery:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Economics at the IGCSE and AS/A Level.
  • Design lesson plans in line with the Cambridge curriculum objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to facilitate understanding and application of economic concepts.
  • Incorporate current economic events, case studies, and real-world applications into teaching.

Curriculum Planning & Development:

  • Develop and review academic content, assignments, assessments, and schemes of work in alignment with CIE standards.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for IGCSE and A-Level examinations through mock exams, revision sessions, and practice papers.

Assessment & Evaluation:

  • Regularly evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents and school leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation and moderation of internal assessments and exam-related documentation.

Student Engagement & Support:

  • Encourage student participation in discussions, debates, and economics-related projects or competitions.
  • Support learners with diverse needs and provide additional guidance where necessary.
  • Offer mentorship for extended essay projects or coursework, if applicable.

Professional Development:

  • Stay updated with changes in the CIE Economics syllabus and assessment methodologies.
  • Attend workshops, training sessions, and subject-specific conferences.

General Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for cross-disciplinary projects and school initiatives.
  • Uphold the school’s values, policies, and academic integrity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postgraduate degree (Master's) in Economics.
  • B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience teaching Economics in the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum.
  • Familiarity with CIE assessment criteria, syllabus, and marking schemes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
