About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Perl Developer & Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Perl, along with hands-on experience in database management and DevOps tools.This role involves technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and driving end-to-end project execution in a remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and efficient Perl-based applications.
  • Lead the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and improvements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best coding practices.
  • Integrate and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance in Linux environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers within the team.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and deployment protocols.
  • Participate in regular code reviews and agile development processes.

Primary Skills

  • Strong programming experience in Perl.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL (database design, optimization, and scripting).
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins for version control and CI/CD.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of C Programming for performance-critical modules.
  • Experience working with Oracle databases.
  • Good understanding of Linux OS for deployment and debugging.
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud-based deployment and services.
  • Familiarity with IDEs like Eclipse or Visual Studio Code.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a distributed remote team.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and detail-oriented approach.
