Job Description

JobResponsibilities: Creating and Developing Patterns : Interpret designers sketches and technical specifications to create accurate 2D patterns. Develop flat patterns based on the design concept for various garment types (e.g., dresses, trousers, shirts). Use pattern-making software (Gerber) to create the initial pattern drafts. Size and Fit Adjustments : Ensure that patterns are sized correctly based on size charts or customer requirements. Adjust patterns to ensure proper fit and proportions. Work closely with the fitting team to refine and modify patterns for different sizes and styles. Pattern Grading : Grade the patterns to produce different sizes while maintaining the design and fit integrity. Ensure consistency across different sizes by applying grading rules to all pattern pieces. Marker Making : Create markers (layouts of pattern pieces) for fabric cutting to ensure efficient fabric use, minimizing waste. Optimize fabric usage by adjusting the marker and pattern layout. Prototyping and Sample Making : Collaborate with the sample-making team to create initial prototypes and samples from the patterns. Make necessary adjustments to patterns based on sample fittings and customer feedback. Collaboration with Designers and Production Teams : Communicate effectively with designers to ensure the patterns match the intended design. Work with the production team to ensure that the patterns can be effectively manufactured on the shop floor. Ensure that all patterns meet the quality standards and are suitable for mass production. Maintaining Pattern Library : Keep a well-organized library of existing patterns for easy retrieval and reference. Update patterns for seasonal collections or as trends change. Quality Control : Conduct inspections on patterns to ensure they meet the required standards for quality, fit, and functionality. Ensure all necessary pattern markings (e.g., grainlines, notches, and seam allowances) are accurately placed. Cost and Time Efficiency : Work with the production team to ensure patterns are efficient and cost-effective in terms of fabric consumption. Ensure patterns are created within the specified time frame to meet production deadlines. Training and Mentoring : Provide guidance and support to junior pattern makers or apprentices in the team. Share knowledge and best practices to improve the overall pattern-making process. Requirements Skills Required: Should know Gerber software (mandatory) Should possess good communication skills.
