Packaging Development Executive

1. Packaging Design & Development

• Develop and optimize

  primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging

  for pharmaceutical products (blister packs, bottles, sachets, cartons, labels).
• Ensure

  packaging integrity, protection, and usability

  for various dosage forms (tablets, capsules, liquids, injectables).
• Work with cross-functional teams including R&D, QA/QC, Production, and Regulatory Affairs.
  

2. Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure all packaging meets

  GMP, WHO, FDA, EMA, ICH, and local regulatory guidelines

  .
• Maintain proper

  documentation for regulatory submissions and audits

  .
• Support stability studies and validate packaging for

  shelf-life, storage, and transportation

  .

3. Material Selection & Testing

• Select

  pharma-grade materials

  for primary and secondary packaging.
• Conduct

  compatibility testing, stability testing, and performance evaluations

  .
• Ensure packaging prevents contamination, moisture ingress, and product degradation.
  

4. Vendor & Supplier Management

• Source, evaluate, and collaborate with

  qualified packaging material suppliers

  .
• Review samples, negotiate costs, and ensure timely delivery.
  
• Conduct

  supplier audits

  and ensure compliance with quality standards.

5. Process Improvement & Innovation

• Optimize packaging processes for

  efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability

  .
• Introduce innovative packaging solutions without compromising compliance or product safety.
  
• Implement

  automation and error-reduction strategies

  where applicable.

6. Documentation & Project Management

• Prepare and maintain

  specifications, SOPs, batch records, and validation documents

  .
• Manage packaging development projects from

  concept to commercial production

  .
• Track project timelines and ensure

  on-time delivery of packaging materials

  .

Required Skills

• Knowledge of

  pharmaceutical packaging materials, machinery, and processes

  .
• Familiarity with

  regulatory requirements

  (GMP, FDA, ISO, WHO, ICH).
• Experience with

  packaging validation, stability studies, and testing protocols

  .
• Strong

  project management and coordination skills

  .
• Proficiency in

  MS Office, packaging design software, or ERP systems

  .
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors / Master’s degree in

  Pharmacy, Packaging Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field

  .
• 2–8 years of experience in

  pharmaceutical packaging development

  .
• Prior experience with

  blister packs, bottles, sachets, labels, cartons

  preferred.
