Roles and Responsibilities: As a Sourcing engineer castings; you are responsible for evaluating, maintaining, managing and optimizing the process and product quality of the suppliers. You are responsible for complete development of casting products with suppliers which includes commercial negotiations as well as product quality maintenance. Visit Supplier base check parts as per AC required std. mentioned on drawing Investigate the quality issues with regular visits/audits and follow-up of the agreed improvement actions Provide solutions for quality improvements in part / product development. Review quality specifications and technical design documents and provide timely and meaningful feedback. Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating activities with suppliers according to production / project execution requirements Identify quality issues, record & document it thoroughly and keep track. Communicating with project manager about existing defects and how to prevent them in future products Applying technical skills related to the product being tested. Ready for extensive travel within India .Educational requirements: University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical) Fluent in EnglishKnowledge:Technical expertise in solving quality related issues for castings, ,machining , fabricationAll types of casting process GDC / PDC / HPDC /sand casting etc.Sound Knowledge of patterns making , casting process and casting defectsGood Command over ERP Systems, knowledge of SAP is added advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. Job Summary:The Supplier Performance Engineer (SPE) is a strategic role responsible for contributing to improvements around supplier performance management which result in best-in-class service levels. The SPE is responsible for assessing supplier capabilities to ensure supplier can reach the level of performance, capability and capacity required to meet our business needs. The SPE will work closely with Category Managers, Buyers, and Supplier Quality Engineers.In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Ensure supplier performance meets/exceeds expectations through the entire lifecycle of the relationship. Responsible for Supplier Delivery Performance to Request / Promised Dates RDSL/PDSL Supplier Quality – Lot Acceptance and ppm measures Work with the commodity management, Global Sourcing and factory support teams as well as others to ensure that the supply chain for raw materials / Finished Goods are well developed and managed to support all worldwide Actuation sites. Lead Supplier Development efforts in terms of Quality, Supply Chain Speed, Delivery and Cost Drive supplier improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management, or accepted quality improvement tools (FMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, Control Plans, Capability Analysis, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, etc.). Ensure supplier capacity and capability adequately support material needs and availability globally. Define and measure performance through supplier scorecards, where sustainability, quality, operational, innovation and financial metrics are integrated and supported by data. Take appropriate, timely and effective actions to resolve issues impacting quality, delivery or cost. Review and audit supplier processes and identify improvements for tangible productivity gains. Support Actuation’s Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Team. Work with Commodity Managers and suppliers on risk management to ensure short and long term material availability to world wide manufacturing sites. Support and implement global commodity strategic sourcing programs. Work with Commodity Managers to set and implement Emerson Net Inflation/Cost Containment goals. Work with suppliers to improve flexibility and quick response to manufacturing sites globally. Provide and Support Technical expertise to internal team members / Suppliers. Review with suppliers and internal design/manufacturing groups to make changes in design, manufacturing processes and/or material specifications to improve quality, cost, productivity and product manufacturability. Assist the feasibility study of parts development in the initial phase of development. Review and audit supplier processes and identify improvements for tangible productivity gains Identify performance gaps as well as improvement opportunities and work with suppliers to define action plans for achieving the desired performance levels. Participate in reviews with preferred suppliers. Focus on improving service levels (i.e., lead time, quality, OTD), cost (NMI, TWC). Additional duties as assigned. Travel required 20 – 25%.For This Role, You Will Need:Strong Organizational and Analytical Skills.Excellent Negotiations Skills.
