Role Overview The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying and qualifying prospective customers, primarily customs brokers and freight forwarders, to build a strong pipeline for our senior sales team. You will reach out to target companies, engage them in discovery conversations, and schedule introductory meetings with decision-makers. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, persuasive, and eager to grow in the global trade and logistics industry. Key Responsibilities • Research target companies and contacts based on Portway’s ideal customer profile • Conduct outbound outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate new leads • Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on needs, interest, and decision-making authority • Book meetings and demos for senior sales team members • Maintain accurate records in CRM (HubSpot or similar) and manage follow-up cadences • Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness • Stay informed on industry trends in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and logistics Qualifications • 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation (preferred) • Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken • Confidence making cold calls and conducting email outreach • Familiarity with CRM tools and lead research techniques • Interest in global trade, logistics, or customs is a plus.
