Here are the key responsibilities and tasks of an Oracle PL/SQL developer : Database Development : Design, develop, and modify database structures, tables, views, and stored procedures using PL/SQL to meet the application requirements. Create and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting. Application Development : Collaborate with software development teams to integrate the database layer with application code. Develop PL/SQL packages, functions, triggers, and other database objects to support application functionality and data processing. Performance Tuning : Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures to enhance the performance and efficiency of database operations. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize data access and retrieval. Data Integrity and Security : Implement data integrity constraints, data validation rules, and security measures to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data stored in the database. Implement and maintain database backup and recovery processes. Database Maintenance : Monitor and maintain the health of the database by analyzing database logs, performing database maintenance tasks, and resolving database-related issues or errors. Ensure database availability, reliability, and data integrity. Troubleshooting and Debugging : Identify and resolve database-related issues, errors, or performance problems through troubleshooting and debugging techniques. Collaborate with database administrators and development teams to resolve complex database issues.
