Role & responsibilities Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, ocular health, and other vision-related conditions. 2. Perform specialized diagnostic tests and procedures, including tonometry, slit-lamp examinations, and retinal evaluations, to detect and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. 3. Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids based on patients' visual needs and ocular health status. 4. Provide expert advice and counseling to patients regarding ocular health, preventive eye care measures, and appropriate vision correction options. 5. Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, opticians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans. 6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, examination results, and treatment plans, in compliance with regulatory standards. Stay abreast of advancements in optometric techniques, technologies, and treatments through continuous education and professional development activities. 8. Participate in community outreach programs, health education initiatives, and vision screening events to promote eye health awareness and preventive care within the community.
