About The Opportunity
Join a busy outpatient ophthalmology clinic delivering community-facing eye care across medical and surgical domains. The role is ideal for a clinically confident Consultant Ophthalmologist who enjoys high OPD throughput, routine and complex cataract workflows, laser procedures, and delivering patient-centric care in an urban Delhi setting.Role & Responsibilities
- Manage daily OPD clinics: perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose anterior and posterior segment conditions, and create evidence-based treatment plans.
- Perform cataract surgeries including phacoemulsification and manage peri‑operative care for cataract patients.
- Conduct minor ophthalmic procedures and laser treatments: YAG capsulotomy, retinal photocoagulation, and other therapeutic lasers as needed.
- Deliver intravitreal injections (anti‑VEGF, steroids) and manage follow-up protocols, complications, and compliance.
- Interpret diagnostic tests: slit lamp findings, indirect ophthalmoscopy, visual fields, OCT reports, and coordinate referrals to subspecialists when indicated.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to quality assurance, and ensure patient safety and infection control standards in the OPD and procedure areas.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/MS/DNB/DO in Ophthalmology or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven OPD experience managing high outpatient volumes and performing phacoemulsification cataract surgeries.
- Hands-on experience with intravitreal injections and common ophthalmic laser procedures.
- Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostics: slit lamp, indirect ophthalmoscopy, OCT, and perimetry interpretation.
- Valid medical registration as required for practice in India and compliance with local clinic credentialing.
- Strong patient documentation and infection control practice in clinical and minor theatre settings.
Preferred
- Fellowship or additional training in cataract/refractive, retina, or glaucoma subspecialty.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in ophthalmology clinics.
- Experience working in high-volume OPD clinics in metro locations, with proven patient satisfaction outcomes.
