Job Title: Operations Manager – Filter Coffee Café (Baroda)

Location: Alkapuri / Baroda

Type: Full-Time

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹45,000 per month (depending on experience)

Reports To: Café Owner

Role Overview

We’re opening a premium Filter Coffee café in Baroda and are looking for a reliable Operations Manager to run the entire café end-to-end.

This role is perfect for someone who knows café/QSR operations, staff training, inventory control, hygiene, customer experience, and daily store management.

Your job is to be involved. You will also be responsible for hiring three staff members, training them, scheduling shifts, and ensuring consistent product quality.

Pre-Opening Setup Responsibilities (Includes One-Time Setup Fee)

You will receive a one-time pre-opening setup bonus for completing the following tasks:

  • Assist the owner in setting up the café from scratch
  • Coordinate with interior teams, carpenters, electricians, and equipment installation vendors
  • Help procure all café equipment (coffee equipment, fridge, POS, milk boiler, utensils, etc.)
  • Finalize vendors for milk, coffee powder, snacks, supplies, disposables, and packaging
  • Assist in FSSAI, Shop Establishment, and other documentation
  • Create SOPs for brewing, hygiene, cleaning, cash handling, store opening/closing
  • Train barista, cashier, and support staff before launch
  • Conduct mock runs, test tasting, and workflow rehearsals
  • Ensure the café is 100% ready for soft launch & grand opening

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Café Operations

  • Open and close the store on time
  • Supervise daily workflow (brewing, service, cleaning)
  • Maintain the standard recipe for filter coffee and all menu items
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and handle escalations
  • Maintain store ambience, cleanliness, and hygiene throughout the day
  • Ensure the equipment checklist is followed morning and night

2. Hiring & Managing Staff (3 People)

You will hire and manage the following roles:

A. Barista / Coffee Maker (1 person)

  • Brewing filter coffee consistently
  • Preparing menu items (cold coffee, snacks, etc.)
  • Maintaining taste and quality standards

B. Cashier + Front Service Staff (1 person)

  • Billing
  • Order taking
  • Customer interaction
  • Cash management + UPI settlement

C. Support/Utility Staff (1 person)

  • Cleaning
  • Dish washing
  • Helping during rush hours
  • Refilling milk, decoction, and ingredients

As Operations Manager, you will:

  • Source candidates from Baroda (Alkapuri/Fatehgunj/Old Padra/Bird Circle areas)
  • Conduct interviews
  • Finalize the monthly salary structure
  • Create weekly shift schedules
  • Train all 3 team members on SOPs
  • Monitor performance & discipline

3. Training & SOP Implementation

  • Create and enforce SOPs for brewing, service, hygiene, and cleaning
  • Train the team on how to prepare consistent filter coffee every time
  • Teach customer service standards
  • Train the cashier on POS billing, UPI, and cash handling
  • Train support staff on cleaning, dishwashing, and kitchen routines
  • Conduct weekly improvement training

4. Inventory & Supply Chain

  • Daily milk management
  • Maintain a fresh decoction cycle
  • Order coffee powder, milk, sugar, snacks, cups, lids, and packaging
  • Maintain par stock (buffer stock)
  • Keep track of wastage and reduce costs
  • Coordinate with vendors for quick delivery

5. Financial & Reporting Responsibilities

  • Daily sales reporting
  • Maintain cash + UPI settlement
  • Track daily expenses
  • Work with the owner on profit and loss goals
  • Reduce wastage and increase efficiency
  • Suggest improvements for growing sales

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Make sure FSSAI hygiene standards are followed
  • Maintain cleaning checklists
  • Ensure proper food storage
  • Monitor expiry dates of ingredients
  • Maintain staff discipline and attendance logs

7. Marketing Support (Optional)

  • Help run small local promotions
  • Encourage Google Reviews from customers
  • Support social media content (photos, videos of the café)

Skills & Experience Required

  • 2–6 years of experience in café/QSR operations (coffee experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good communication and customer-handling
  • Knowledge of brewing basics (filter coffee, espresso, milk steaming)
  • Ability to hire, train, and manage staff
  • Basic computer knowledge (POS, Excel, WhatsApp reports)

Work Schedule

  • 10–12 hours daily
  • Weekly off: 1 day
  • Flexible for weekend rush
