Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager to lead the UHP (Ultra High Purity) systems function within our solar cell and semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of UHP infrastructure including high-purity gas, chemical, ultrapure water (UPW), and vacuum systems that are essential to high-yield semiconductor and photovoltaic production.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mission-critical cleanroom utilities and a proven track record of managing technical teams in high-tech manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

UHP System Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of UHP systems such as:
  • High Purity Gases: N₂, H₂, O₂, Ar, CDA, process gases (e.g., SiH₄, PH₃)
  • Chemical Delivery Systems: Bulk and specialty chemicals
  • Ultrapure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment
  • Vacuum, Scrubbers, Exhaust, and Leak Detection
  • Develop and implement Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM/PdM) schedules via CMMS systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a team of technicians and engineers; assign tasks, provide technical direction, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coordinate technical training and development.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.

Project Management & Expansion Support

  • Collaborate with project teams during facility expansions or UHP system upgrades.
  • Manage contractor/vendor performance for system installations and retrofits.
  • Ensure commissioning, qualification, and validation of new UHP systems.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all systems comply with SEMI standards, cleanroom protocols, and local EHS regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, permits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions (CAPA).

Operational Efficiency & Budget Control

  • Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for energy/resource optimization.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor contracts.
  • Track KPIs such as uptime, MTBF, and maintenance effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in UHP system management within semiconductor or solar PV cell manufacturing environments.
  • 3+ years in a team leadership or managerial role.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of cleanroom and fab utility systems (Class 1–1000 cleanrooms).
  • Experience with SEMI, NFPA, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Proficient in CMMS, SCADA, BMS, or PLC-based control systems.
  • Familiarity with hazardous gas safety, chemical compatibility, and high-purity materials handling.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Desirable Certifications:

  • SEMI S2/S8, OSHA 30, or NEBOSH certification
  • Six Sigma, TPM, or Lean Maintenance certifications are a plus.

Work Conditions:

  • Majority of time spent in fab support areas and cleanrooms (gowning required).
  • May involve occasional shift work, emergency call-outs, or weekend support.
  • Must be able to wear PPE and work in confined spaces or elevated platforms when required.

Pay: ₹50,688.57 - ₹78,803.66 per month
