Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Safety Compliance & Monitoring

  • Implement and monitor compliance with project-specific HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable safety legislation, codes, and standards (e.g., Factories Act, BOCW Rules).
  • Conduct routine site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

2. Risk Assessment & Control

  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
  • Advise on control measures for identified hazards and monitor implementation.
  • Maintain records of hazard reports, near misses, and incidents.

3. Training & Awareness

  • Conduct induction training for all new workers and subcontractors.
  • Organize toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns on key topics (e.g., working at height, confined space, electrical safety).
  • Track participation and maintain training records.

4. Incident Management

  • Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Maintain incident logs and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with medical services in case of emergencies.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain safety documentation including checklists, permits, training records,

inspection reports, and statutory registers.

  • Submit daily/weekly safety performance reports to the HSE Manager and Project Head.

6. Coordination & Supervision

  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Supervise safety stewards and ensure they support daily operations.
  • Promote safety leadership among line managers and supervisors.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment tools and incident investigation techniques.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic project environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable Certifications:

• NEBOSH IGC / IOSH Managing Safely

• First Aid / Fire Safety Certification

• Internal Auditor (ISO 45001:2018)
