Job Description

1. Key Accountabilities Major Activities / Tasks I. Emergency Care Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the diagnostic center (e.g., allergic reactions, fainting episodes). Assess patients' vital signs and administer basic life support as needed. Maintain emergency equipment and supplies. Collaborate with physicians and paramedics to provide optimal emergency care. II. General Care Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Assist physicians and radiologists during diagnostic procedures (e.g., X-rays, ultrasounds). Monitor patients during and after procedures, addressing any discomfort or concerns. Administer medications and provide basic nursing care as prescribed. Collect and prepare patient specimens (e.g. sputum collection etc) for analysis, following established protocols. Educate patients about their diagnostic procedures and answer their questions. III. Communication and Collaboration Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment. Ensure patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. 2. Major Challenges Remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations such as allergic reactions, respiratory distress, or fainting. Adhere to regulatory requirements and standards set forth by relevant governing bodies. Collaborate with staff to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure the smooth nursing service operation. Periodically interaction with clinical heads to discuss problems in patient care and develop mitigation plan. Adhere to infection control protocols and sanitation standards to prevent the spread of infections. 3. Key Interactions Internal & External Technicians Physicians Administrative Staff Patients 4. Skills & Knowledge Educational qualifications: B.Sc/M.Sc in Nursing; Strong understanding of respiratory anatomy and physiology Minimum 8-10 years of experience
