We are a U.S.-based startup building a global SaaS platform, with a fast-moving roadmap and a team of university interns working under experienced leadership. Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Software Developer with a strong background in SaaS platforms, healthcare compliance (HIPAA/GDPR), and AI-powered applications. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will: Architect and build Novas core platform. Mentor and manage a team of 16 developer interns plus a project manager intern , each contributing 20 hours per week . Interns are typically Master’s level students from Arizona State University (ASU) . Interview and select which interns join the team. Deliver a working MVP within 4 months (POS, CRM, EMR Lite, Receptionist AI, Executive AI Agents, Ads Engine). Ensure HIPAA-ready compliance and scalable architecture for future growth. Important: This role requires availability during U.S. hours (Arizona time zone) to directly manage and mentor interns in real time. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Development Design and oversee multi-tenant SaaS architecture (secure login, role-based permissions). Lead development of CRM, POS, EMR (lite v1), finance/payroll integrations, and Nova Ads Engine. Implement APIs for external integrations (QuickBooks, ADP, Zoho, Sage, Meta Ads API, Google Ads API). Ensure HIPAA-compliant design, encryption, access logging, and audit readiness. Team Leadership & Mentorship Interview and select the best-fit interns. Provide daily technical guidance, code reviews, and unblock interns when needed. Work closely with the PM intern to plan sprints, track velocity, and meet deadlines. Balance delivery speed with intern capacity (20 hrs/week each). Hands-On Development Personally handle critical modules (authentication, compliance, API layers). Jump in to resolve complex issues interns cannot. Ensure stability, scalability, and security of MVP. Strategic Involvement Report directly to the Founder (25-year entrepreneur). Participate in long-term product roadmap discussions. Potential to grow into a CTO position as Nova scales. Qualifications 10+ years full-stack development experience, with 3+ years in a lead/architect role . Proven track record in SaaS (multi-tenant, subscription billing, secure auth). Hands-on experience with: Flutter / Dart (front-end) Node.js or Python (FastAPI/Flask) (back-end) Google Cloud (IAM, Firestore, Cloud SQL, encryption, logging) REST APIs & integrations (Stripe, ADP, QuickBooks, Zoho, etc.) Familiar with HIPAA/GDPR compliance . Experience mentoring junior developers or interns. Exposure to AI integrations (OpenAI/Claude/Gemini, LangChain, automation frameworks like n8n/Zapier). Excellent communication skills; must work U.S. hours (Arizona time zone). Compensation Package Base Salary: $3,500–$4,500/month (DOE).
