Job Description

1. On-Site Support: Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for IT hardware, software, and network infrastructure at client locations or remote sites. 2. Installation and Configuration: Install, set up, and configure hardware, software, and network components including servers, workstations, routers, switches, printers, and other peripherals. 3. Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks, software updates, and hardware upgrades to ensure systems are running efficiently and securely. 4. Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networking, and connectivity. Analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions quickly. 5. Networking: Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity, ensuring proper communication between devices, and addressing issues such as IP conflicts, firewall configurations, and DNS problems. 6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all on-site visits, actions taken, solutions provided, and equipment configurations. Create detailed documentation for processes, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations. 7. Client Interaction: Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner. Communicate technical information in a clear and understandable way, both verbally and in written form. 8. Remote Support: Provide remote technical support to clients when on-site presence is not required. Utilize remote access tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues. 9. Security: Implement and enforce security protocols, including antivirus updates, malware scans, data backup strategies, and user access controls. 10. Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams, including helpdesk, network administrators, and software developers, to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless technology integration. 11. Training: Train end-users on basic technology usage, best practices, and preventive maintenance procedures to minimize recurring issues. 12. Emergency Response: Respond to critical incidents promptly, such as system failures, network outages, and security breaches, and take immediate action to minimize downtime. 13. Existing client Management: Work with existing clients to evaluate new networking technologies, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and coordinate maintenance or upgrades. Ensure security protocols and antivirus programs are up-to-date. Provide remote support and on-site assistance as needed. Document and maintain records of user issues and solutions for future reference.
