Job Summary We are seeking a Network Security Engineer / ITIL Security Specialist to join our team in Kochi. This role will focus on planning, implementing, and ensuring the quality of firewall upgrades and new installations within a banking IT infrastructure. The position is grounded in ITIL principles, with a strong emphasis on ITIL Service Operation and Information Security Management (ISM). The role begins with an in-depth analysis of the existing security landscape, factoring in current threats, network segmentation, and organizational policies. The expert will then design a forward-thinking firewall strategy that accommodates both on-premise and cloud environments. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), designing redundant architectures, and defining ACLs and security zones. The candidate will plan and coordinate migrations and deployments, ensure changes are approved in accordance with ITIL Change Enablement processes, maintain documentation in the CMDB, and collaborate with incident and problem managers. Quality assurance will be reinforced through penetration testing and security audits, with strict attention to GDPR, Central Bank of the UAE regulations, and business continuity requirements. Key Responsibilities Analyze the current firewall architecture and identify security gaps Develop a consolidated and future-proof network security strategy Select, design, and implement modern firewall systems Align all activities with ITIL processes (Change Enablement, CMDB, Incident Management) Plan and execute firewall rollouts and migrations Conduct and act on findings from security audits and penetration tests Document all configurations and changes following ITIL ISM guidelines Ensure compliance with local and international data protection and cybersecurity regulations Required Skills Technically: ITIL v4 – Information Security Management expertise Strong understanding of network security and firewall strategy Change management experience aligned with ITIL framework Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (UAE, EU GDPR) Practically: Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA) Familiarity with networking protocols and tools (TCP/IP, VPN, IDS/IPS) Experience working with hybrid cloud security environments Exposure to internal and external IT audits Methodologically: Strong documentation and CMDB maintenance capabilities Project planning and coordination in ITIL-driven environments Show more Show less
