Network Security Engineer II - IN (R-21614) - (3rd Shift)

As an Information Security Engineer at Rackspace, your primary role is to configure, improve, modify, and evaluate security tools and services in our hosting-based environment. You will specialize in conducting technology and system assessments, providing technical consultation to customers, and ensuring world-class service. It is crucial to stay updated on evolving technology and cybersecurity news to support Rackspace Cloud products effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with additional teams and third-party vendors to resolve security vulnerabilities and respond to weak points - Utilize systems like Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, database encryption, key management, Anti-Virus, File Integrity Monitoring, and network authentication to deliver exceptional customer outcomes - Create and maintain customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Support above and beyond expectations Qualifications Required: - Intermediate knowledge of security concepts, principals, and technologies - Experience with configuration and analysis of Web Application Firewall (WAF) blocked events - Familiarity with common web security vulnerabilities and remediation methods - Proficiency in configuring Log Management tools, Firewalls appliances, Load Balancers appliances, IPSEC, SSL VPN technologies, and troubleshooting network connectivity - Understanding of networking concepts, devices, OSI Layers, switch configuration, and Windows and Linux operating system administration - Knowledge of public cloud security architectures, best practices, deployment strategies, and vendor-related roadmaps - Ability to execute device firmware upgrades based on security requirements and feature updates Rackspace may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support the hiring process, but final decisions are made by humans.
