Job Overview: This Role will lead the development, execution, and management of the solar rooftop funding business segment. The role will involve strategic oversight, business growth, and establishing partnerships to drive adoption among SME and MSME clients. To work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement tailored financial products that meet the needs of our target market. Role & responsibilities Business Strategy & Development: Develop and implement the business strategy for solar rooftop funding tailored to SMEs and MSMEs. Identify growth opportunities and market trends to position the company as a leader in the solar financing space. Product Customization & Innovation: Work with the product team to design financing products that meet the unique needs of SMEs and MSMEs, ensuring products are affordable, accessible, and scalable. Sales & Business Expansion: Drive business acquisition efforts, including identifying key prospects, establishing partnerships with distributors, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms, and other stakeholders in the solar energy ecosystem. Lead negotiations, closing deals, and growing market share in the solar rooftop funding space. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with SME/MSME customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Implement customer engagement strategies to improve retention and product adoption. Market Research & Analysis: Conduct regular market assessments to understand industry trends, competitor offerings, customer needs, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector. Use insights to refine business strategies. Risk Management: Collaborate with the risk and compliance teams to ensure that all solar rooftop funding products adhere to regulatory standards and manage credit and operational risks effectively. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team to execute business strategies effectively. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages growth, innovation, and customer-centric thinking. P&L Management: Oversee the financial performance of the solar rooftop funding business. Manage budgets, set financial targets, and ensure the business operates efficiently and profitably. Partnerships & Stakeholder Management: Forge strategic alliances with solar developers, EPC contractors, industry associations, and government bodies to enhance business opportunities and increase the visibility of solar rooftop funding solutions. Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs, monitor performance metrics, and provide regular updates to senior management regarding business performance, challenges, and opportunities. Preferred candidate profile Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in business leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on renewable energy financing, solar projects, or related sectors. Experience in managing SME/MSME lending products is highly desirable. Solar Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the solar energy sector, particularly rooftop solar, and familiarity with financing models, government incentives, and market dynamics. Business Development & Sales Expertise: Proven track record of driving business growth, securing partnerships, and expanding market presence. Strong network within the renewable energy ecosystem is a plus. Leadership & Team Management: Experience leading and managing teams, with a focus on achieving business targets and fostering a high-performance culture. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modeling, risk management, and P&L management. Ability to evaluate the financial health of potential customers and manage credit risk.
