Job Description

Dear Candidate, We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure our database infrastructure. You will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and data integrity. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases in on-premises and cloud environments. Monitor database performance, query optimization, and indexing strategies . Perform backup and recovery planning using tools like MySQL Dump, Percona XtraBackup. Ensure database security by managing access controls, encryption, and user permissions. Optimize database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions (MySQL Replication, Galera Cluster). Implement automated monitoring using tools such as Percona Monitoring, Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus . Troubleshoot database issues, logs, and queries to ensure minimal downtime . Manage schema changes, data migrations, and ETL processes . Work with developers to optimize SQL queries and database performance . Stay updated with MySQL best practices, emerging trends, and security threats . Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience with MySQL 5.7, 8.0, and MariaDB . Expertise in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing . Hands-on experience with backup and recovery strategies (mysqldump, XtraBackup). Strong understanding of replication (Master-Slave, Master-Master, Group Replication) . Knowledge of database security best practices (TLS encryption, access control, auditing). Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and shell scripting for automation . Familiarity with high availability and clustering solutions (Galera, MySQL Cluster). Proficiency in database monitoring and troubleshooting tools . Ability to work with large datasets and optimize database performance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
