MYP DP English Teacher

As an experienced IB English Teacher at Bloomingdale International School, your primary role will be to deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons aligned with MYP/DP standards and objectives. You will design unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments in adherence to IB guidelines, while assessing student work using MYP/DP criteria and maintaining accurate records. Supporting student development through feedback, reflection activities, and differentiated instruction will be crucial. Your collaboration and communication skills will be put to use as you participate in planning meetings, school events, and maintain regular communication with parents, counselors, and coordinators. Acting as a mentor for Extended Essay (DP) or Community Project (MYP) will also be part of your responsibilities. Professionalism is key in this role, as you engage in professional development opportunities, stay updated with IB documentation, and model positive values and ethics for students. Your ability to resolve conflicts constructively and maintain a professional demeanor will contribute to a positive learning environment. Administratively, you will participate in school activities beyond the classroom, provide timely grades and reports, utilize technology platforms efficiently, and prepare recommendation letters for students when required. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's/Masters Degree in English Literature or a related field, have IB certified training in MYP/DP English (preferred), possess a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an IB school, demonstrate a strong understanding of IB philosophy and assessment criteria, and exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
