Job Description

Senior MS SQL DBA Responsibilities

• Demonstrated 7+ years of experience working as an MS SQL Server administrator
• Strong understanding of SQL database monitoring and performance tuning
• Advanced knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options
• Ability to develop automation and scripts to reduce manual tasks (PowerShell or other scripting tools)
• Contributes to the direction of Azure cloud migration
• Implements, maintains, and troubleshoots database replication (SQL Server replication and 3rd-party tools such as Fivetran, Qlik, etc.)
• Understands DBA challenges and delivers innovative, automated technical solutions
• Continuously learns and shares knowledge with the team
• Completed multiple migrations and upgrades

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of production DBA experience
• Minimum 5+ years SQL development experience
• PowerShell experience
• Experience with cloud migrations (Microsoft Azure and/or AWS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on automation/innovation
• Extensive experience with HA and DR options for MSSQL and Azure SQL
• Experience with replication in multi-server/datacenter environments
• Experience in multi-datacenter environments, including stretched data centers to Azure or AWS
• Participation in on-call rotation
• Experience with SSRS development, SSDT, TFS, and GIT source control
• Experience working with CI and Software Engineering teams
• Active participation in governance, including data access, encryption, and masking best practices
• Experience monitoring and supporting ETL pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS)
