· Understanding existing design philosophy and keeping in mind key unique design signatures are maintained in equipment design. · Collecting design requirement specifications from management and marketing and compilation of data and design planning. · Undertaking design of equipment assembly in 3D CAD environment. · Ensuring design is undertaken according to available machines and tooling’s such that designed parts could be realized in simplest possible manner and without stress on machine and tooling. · Inspecting assembly drawings and part drawings to check they comply to DFM, DFA and future serviceability of equipment and its components or subassemblies. · Extracting and creating manufacturing drawings for individual parts and annotating them in detail to explain parts manufacturing to semi-skilled operator. Similarly generating assembly drawings. · Creating test and check points in drawings to identify possible mistakes early during manufacturing. · Coordination with CAD software technical support team for any issues faced in designing or using software. · Engage with job workers for issuing and verifying CAD/CAM before they undertake our jobs. · Engage with factory operators and managers to resolve their queries and visit factory for pilot runs for new design and resolving issues with past designs. · Experience in designing of sheet metal assemblies is preferable.
