Job Title: MRD Incharge / Head Medical Records Department

Location: Miri Piri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Shahabad Markanda, Haryana

Hospital Strength: 430+ Bedded Multi-Specialty Teaching Hospital

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and oversee all activities of the Medical Records Department, ensuring accurate documentation and timely record processing.
  2. Implement and maintain hospital policies for collection, classification, indexing, and retrieval of patient records.
  3. Ensure completeness of inpatient and outpatient case files, including admission, progress notes, operative details, and discharge summaries.
  4. Coordinate with clinical, nursing, and billing departments for record verification and correction of documentation errors.
  5. Monitor and ensure proper documentation and secure handling of

    Medico-Legal Cases (MLCs)

    and Death Certificates as per legal requirements.
  6. Oversee digitization and electronic health record (EHR) management, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  7. Prepare and submit hospital statistics, morbidity, and mortality data to management and regulatory authorities.
  8. Support NABH, NMC, and other audits by providing accurate and timely records.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of medical data and restrict unauthorized access to patient information.
  10. Supervise MRD staff, conduct training sessions, and evaluate performance to enhance departmental efficiency.
  11. Coordinate with IT and Quality departments for integration of MRD functions with the Hospital Information System (HIS).
  12. Implement record retention and destruction policies as per institutional and legal guidelines.
  13. Participate in hospital quality assurance, accreditation processes, and medical data management improvement initiatives.
  14. Ensure the department operates with professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance at all times.
