Job Responsibilities/Description: To evaluate patients medical histories to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them. To suggest alternative medical imaging techniques, whenever necessary. To inform patients about the medical imaging process. To use devices such as computer tomography (CT) scanners and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. To perform or directing radiology staff to carry out image-guided, diagnostic procedures. To work with radiology technicians to perfect image quality. To interpret the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses. To communicate and discuss results and diagnoses with physicians. To compile written reports of results and diagnoses. To follow medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, whenever necessary. To review and interpret medical images to determine patient status and future medical care To determine the exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders. To perform minimally invasive surgical techniques with image guidance To communicate and discuss test results with other physicians To discuss results with family members if appropriate To instruct patients about how images are taken To attend rostered sessions and perform work according to the weekly timetable
