Role & responsibilities

DS-MAX is hiring for MEP Designer

1. Design & Drafting

• Prepare and develop detailed MEP system designs (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting) for high-rise buildings.
• Create drawings, schematics, layouts, and construction documents using AutoCAD/Revit or similar software.
• Perform load calculations, sizing, and selection of equipment/materials.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international codes and standards (NBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.).

2. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other design teams for clash-free, integrated MEP designs.
• Participate in design review meetings and ensure timely incorporation of changes.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to clarify design intent and address technical queries.

3. Quality Assurance

• Review and validate MEP shop drawings, BOQs, and material submittals.
• Conduct design audits to ensure accuracy, constructability, and adherence to specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sustainability, and energy-efficiency principles.

4. Site Support

• Provide technical support during installation, testing & commissioning phases.
• Carry out site visits to ensure design conformance and resolve technical issues if required.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare design reports, calculation sheets, technical specifications, and tender documents.
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design deliverables.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting design for high-rise structures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and relevant design tools.
• Good understanding of relevant codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IS Codes, IEC, LEED, etc.).
• Strong analytical, detailing, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Education

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use buildings.
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools (Navisworks).
• Exposure to green building design or sustainable MEP solutions.
