Medical Coding Executive

We are looking for a skilled Certified Medical Coder to join our expanding healthcare team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with clinical data, values accuracy, and understands the importance of precise coding in the healthcare revenue cycle. Your expertise will help ensure that every diagnosis, procedure, and treatment is properly documented and coded to support smooth billing and quality patient care.

You will collaborate with medical staff, billing specialists, and auditors to maintain coding accuracy and compliance across our operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze medical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Maintain full compliance with HIPAA and federal coding standards
• Coordinate with physicians for documentation enhancement or clarification
• Assist with denial resolution and audit preparation
• Keep up-to-date with changes in payer rules, coding guidelines, and compliance updates
• Work alongside the revenue cycle team to enhance claims accuracy and improve reimbursement outcomes

Required Skills

• Strong grasp of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
• High level of attention to detail and critical thinking
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech preferred)
• Proficiency in HCC coding

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification required

Experience

• Relevant hands-on medical coding experience is essential
