Please find the job description for the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder specializing in Radiology to join our healthcare team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong understanding of radiology coding protocols and guidelines. The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding radiology services, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborating with clinical staff to maintain high standards of documentation.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding of radiology procedures and diagnoses.
Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to radiology services and procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
Maintain knowledge of current coding guidelines, regulations, and best practices in radiology coding.
Assist in the resolution of coding-related issues and queries from insurance companies or healthcare providers.
Participate in regular training sessions and workshops to stay updated on coding changes and healthcare regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a medical coder, specifically in the radiology department, with 1-4 years of experience.
Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems relevant to radiology.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to radiology procedures.
Proficient in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve coding discrepancies.
Good communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
