Job Description

Summary : The Mechanical Design Engineer Cost Reduction & New Features is a vital and active member of the engineering team, responsible for designing products and machines according to customer orders. He/She must conduct a thorough analysis of historical orders before taking on custom engineering tasks Main tasks & key responsibilities : Leading cost reduction initiatives and integrating new features into cable reels. Designing equipment and machinery based on customer orders and specifications. Updating existing designs, components, and subsystems to enhance manufacturability, performance, quality, and cost efficiency. Creating and modifying 3D models, assemblies, and detailed production drawings, including drawing conversions and BOMs. Ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality (first-time-right) engineering deliverables. Performing machine design calculations, conducting FEA, and creating/updating matrices. Collaborating with departments such as GPS, Sales, Customer Service, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality. Soft Skills Exceptional attention to detail, with strong skills in facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Coordinate effectively with global design engineers working at different sites. Strong team player, accountable for individual work while contributing to overall team success. Decisive, proactive, and able to take the initiative to drive action. Committed work ethic, focused on delivering on-time and high-quality results. Flexible and adaptable, thriving in dynamic and changing environments Hard skills Extensive experience in mechanical engineering of systems, subsystems, and components for heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Practical knowledge in cost reduction strategies for machinery and industrial equipment. Proven experience in adding new features to machines and industrial equipment. Strong hands-on proficiency in SolidWorks is essential. In-depth understanding of manufacturing drawings and production processes. Excellent skills in mechanical design calculations.
