Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibility:

- Develop and design machinery and mechanical systems based on client requirements or project specifications.

- Create concept designs, preliminary drawings, and 3D models using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Solid edge.

- Select appropriate materials and components based on the design needs, considering factors like strength, durability, cost, and manufacturing feasibility.

- Perform material property analysis to ensure the machine will perform as expected under different conditions.

- Conduct structural and thermal analysis of components and assemblies to ensure they can handle operational loads and environmental conditions without failure.

- Oversee the creation of prototypes for new machines or parts, ensuring they meet design specifications.

- Work with manufacturing engineers, electrical engineers, quality control, and other departments to ensure the machine design is feasible for production and meets industry standards.

- Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials.

- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including blueprints, design reports, and assembly instructions.

- Ensure all designs comply with safety and regulatory standards.

- Oversee the timeline, budget, and resources for machine design projects.

- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful design implementation.

- Continuously improve machine designs for better efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

- Identify problems in machine performance or manufacturing processes and develop solutions.

- Implement corrective actions and adjust designs as necessary.

- Ensure that designs meet safety standards (such as ISO, etc.), ensuring the machine can operate safely and efficiently.

- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, trends, and technological advancements.

Requirements:

- Proficiency in CAD software: Solid edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: CNC machining, Pharmaceutical machinery, etc.

- Understanding of mechanical principles: Mechanics, thermodynamics, material science.

- Problem-solving skills: Analytical thinking for optimizing designs and troubleshooting issues.

- Knowledge of standards: Industry standards like ASME, ISO, etc.
