Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Routing & Fitting with over 10 years of experience, you will be responsible for performing 3D and mechanical design annotations as well as creating 2D deliverables in adherence to QCD commitments, Metier rules, and established processes. Your role will involve modeling and storing allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems and components in the Digital Mock-Up, ensuring detailed design on internal sub-systems, and filling up attributes for each part in the Digital Mock-Up such as naming, material, fire & smoke properties, etc. Key Responsibilities: - Verify the consistency of the digital mock-up, check for clashes, and ensure compliance with requirements including allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc. - Prepare and document Domain Design Reviews, update the Digital Mock-Up based on Change Requests, and oversee the quality of CADs and subcontractors" designs. - Conduct stack-up analysis, create the Bill of Material, plan and pilot Mechanical/Piping Domain activities within your assigned zone, and manage the production of deliverables in accordance with planning targets. - Design products while considering project requirements such as performances, manufacturability, serviceability, and testability. - Resolve project issues, report on the progress of Mechanical/Piping Domain activities, and alert relevant stakeholders in case of issues that may impact QCD commitments. - Respect and allocate requirements and interfaces to sub-systems/equipment, validate Domain deliverables, and perform the quotation of engineering work-packages as needed. Qualifications Required: - Expertise in Mechanical Engineering, particularly applied to Railway products. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering specializing in Routing & Fitting. - Proficiency in 3D modeling software and mechanical design annotations. - Strong understanding of QCD commitments, Metier rules, and established design processes. - Knowledge of stack-up analysis, Bill of Material creation, and project management within the Mechanical/Piping Domain activities.
