Role Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer (Draftsman) to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models for MV and LV electrical panels, enclosures, and related components using CAD software. The role involves close coordination with electrical engineers, production, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and manufacturable designs. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for MV & LV switchgear and control panels using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software. Design sheet metal enclosures, panel layouts, busbar arrangements, and mounting structures according to IEC standards and client specifications. Collaborate with electrical design engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical designs. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing drawings, and assembly instructions. Revise and update drawings as per design changes, engineering feedback, or client revisions. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and internal quality protocols. Assist in prototyping, testing, and resolving design-related issues in production. Maintain an organized library of drawings and design documents for reference and audit purposes. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design, preferably in electrical panel manufacturing. Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 2D/3D design software. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with IEC, ISO, or ANSI standards related to switchgear and panel construction. Good understanding of IP ratings, thermal considerations, and material selection. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
