We’re looking for a Mechanical Commodity Costing Engineer who can evaluate manufacturing processes, estimate part costs, and support sourcing and supplier development for a diverse range of mechanical components. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for machined, fabricated, casting, forging, stamping, and plastic components. Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to identify key cost drivers. Develop and maintain cost models based on material, process, tooling, and labor. Support sourcing team with technical evaluation during supplier selection. Benchmark costs across multiple manufacturing processes and geographies. Provide inputs for make-or-buy decisions and value engineering initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing cost estimation, sourcing, or supplier development. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes — machining, sheet metal, casting, forging, injection molding, etc. Good understanding of raw material grades, process cycles, and tooling costs. Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD preferred). Analytical mindset with attention to detail and cost breakdown accuracy.
