Manager - SMT

Key Responsibilities

• People and Schedule Management:

• Manage and lead

  the entire SMT Group workforce, including SMT Engineers, Technicians, and Operators.
• Develop and implement efficient

  manpower schedules

  and shift rotas to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the team.

• SMT Operations and Technical Expertise:

• Possess and maintain comprehensive

  hands-on experience

  and technical mastery across

  all SMT machines

  , including:

• Pick and Place Machines

• Reflow Ovens

• Solder Printers

• X-Ray Inspection Machines

• Demonstrate proficiency in

  programming

  and optimizing both

  Pick and Place Machines

  and

  Reflow Ovens

  to maximize yield and quality for various PCB assemblies.

• Quality Assurance and Analysis (Aerospace Focus):

• Maintain overall

  knowledge and compliance

  with strict quality requirements essential for

  Aerospace

  manufacturing standards (e.g., IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 Class 3).
• Lead

  analysis and root cause investigation

  of quality issues and defects encountered in the SMT process (e.g., solder voids, component misalignments, shorts).
• Implement effective

  corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  to eliminate recurring SMT quality problems.

• Reporting and Communication:

• Report

  regularly to the

  next level Manager

  (as specified) on production performance metrics, team management, equipment status, and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Planning departments to ensure seamless production flow and material readiness.

Required Qualifications

• years of experience, typically 5+ years in SMT with 2+ years in a supervisory/manager role].
• education requirements, e.g., B.Tech in Engineering or related field].
• Demonstrated experience managing schedules, personnel, and production flow in a manufacturing setting.
• In-depth technical expertise in all facets of SMT line operation, setup, and troubleshooting.
