The Security Manager CBE Chennai/Bengaluru, reporting to the Senior Security Manager at WM IDC Chennai, will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the Walmart Centre of Business Excellence (WMCBE-CES) where he is deployed i.e. at Bengaluru Or at Chennai, including its physical assets, associates, and vendors. The WMCBE may be housed in multiple buildings across various parts of the city, and will operate 24/7, with night shifts shared alternatively with the other Security Managers on role.
The Security Manager will assist in developing and implementing comprehensive security policies for the facility, associates, and vendors across multiple locations within Bengaluru / Chennai. They will be expected to undertake tasks assigned by the Security Manager from time to time and will be responsible for taking on the duties of the Security Manager WMCBE-CES in their absence.
The Walmart Global Tech Security Team is responsible for safeguarding Walmart’s vast technology ecosystem, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data across global operations. The team works on cutting-edge security solutions to protect millions of customers and associates worldwide
The Security Manager is responsible for various other tasks, including developing and delivering security awareness training programs for contact center associates, serving as a BCP Planning & Program coordinator for WMCBE-CES business pillars, providing insight to safety design in disaster management as a member of the Chennai Crisis Management Team, managing and conducting all security audits, budgeting for annual budget estimates for 3rd Party guarding services and other security gadgets, Due Diligence Audits, and maintaining a secure environment at all WMCBE-CES buildings by ensuring all security protocols are followed in letter and spirit. The Security Manager is also responsible for establishing and maintaining procedures to reduce internal theft and losses, ensuring timely completion of reports, and ensuring all necessary actions are commenced as required.
The team also regulates the entry and exit of all visitors to the facility through the Visitor Management System (VMS), ensures the functioning of the VMS, and trains 3rd party Security Rank structure personnel in handling the VMS and the reports & returns. Furthermore, the team controls the material gate, ensuring all materials going out and coming into the property are properly documented, and maintains the security and accounting of gate passes and conducts audits as appropriate to Tech park regulations too ( For e.g:- SEZ tech park, STPI, Non-STPI Parks) .
The team reviews daily activities of security guards and supervisors on all shifts, ensures all security staff are properly trained in emergency procedures at all times, and maintains responsibility for payroll and scheduling of security staff, ensuring all necessary time sheets and documents are completed and signed. The team also ensures security staff are neatly and well turned out in appearance, report for duty on time as scheduled, and perform to set standards. Furthermore, the team resolves all issues with 3rd Party Security Vendors and investigates any incidents related to them.
The policy also emphasizes the importance of maintaining all auditable documents related to the provision of escorts, which are required for the annual woman's safety audit. This ensures that the necessary records are kept in demonstrating compliance with the policy and to facilitate the audit process. By implementing these policy measures, the security Manager assists in achieving the policy aims which is to provide
The Executive Protection team shall provide protection to executives as and when required, ensuring their safety and security. Under the Overall coordination planned and executed by the Security Manager IDC Chennai.
To ensure a safe working environment, the team shall be knowledgeable about statutory and regulatory requirements of law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the local government. Additionally, they shall maintain a high level of general concern for workplace safety amongst all WMCBE staff through the implementation of various policies and procedures. Furthermore, they shall ensure that there is no workplace violence by maintaining a proper intelligence system and taking prompt action to bring it under control in case it occurs.
The team shall build and maintain a close and good liaison with local law enforcement agencies, OSAC, and the local fire department. They shall also carry out annual fire mock drills if required. Moreover, they shall maintain constant liaison with the local law enforcement agency, intelligence, fire department, and building security team to obtain security updates.
On instructions from the Sr Security Manager, IDC Chennai, Which is duly approved by the Security Manager IDC & CBE-CES, the team shall be prepared to undertake any additional responsibilities of security management.
Miscellaneous - The team shall maintain control of lost and found valuables, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for in the storage and returned to associates/visitors upon enquiries and verifications being made.
